{"id":10818,"date":"2020-06-12T13:09:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-12T12:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b1-akt.com\/FR\/?p=10818"},"modified":"2020-06-15T16:48:17","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T15:48:17","slug":"the-new-normal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/b1-akt.com\/FR\/the-new-normal\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Normal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>When you are invited to talk in great events about <strong>CHANGE<\/strong>, you need to pick one of the two primary options:<br><br>Option A- be smart, be safe, and tell: The infusion of new disruptive practices will be great, and moving forward it will be greater.<br>Option B- take risks, listen your gut, expose and embrace the uncertainties, and tell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><br>Disruptions<strong> empower us<\/strong> to come up with new modes of describing, representing, and designing -however \u2014 it also <strong>creates tectonic shifts<\/strong> in the roles of decision-makers, tool developers, and creators. Moving forward: some professions will become more grounded, some will transform, and some other will disappear.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>Even if you perceive <strong>disruptions as the challenge of the unknown<\/strong>, face it and try to find a touchpoint that aligns with your interests, your insight and your expertise.<br><br>We humans will steer all this to the direction it needs to go.<br><br>At the end of the road, you will still have yourself, your feelings, your take on things, your memories and the experiences that will keep unfolding with your inner self. <strong>You will matter<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Don\u2019t expect others to tell you what that experience will look like. Take the initiative, <strong>be the driving force!<\/strong><br><br><strong>Disruption<\/strong> can mean <strong>different things<\/strong> to different people. The fundamental thing to get your head around is that it isn\u2019t just merely replacing one product with another, but c<strong>oming up with a product or service<\/strong> that add <strong>more value<\/strong> than its predecessors, and shake up the status quo while at it.<br><br>Clayton Christensen characterises disruption well in his \u201cInnovator\u2019s Dilemma\u201d. In essence, there are <strong>two types of disruption<\/strong>:<br><br>A <strong>new product<\/strong> or <strong>service <\/strong>that addresses a market that previously couldn\u2019t be served. The new product or service is a cheaper or more convenient alternative to what is already available in the market.<br><br>During a crisis, <strong>incentives and motivations change<\/strong>. Disasters can get the c<strong>ollective adrenaline<\/strong> and <strong>creative juices<\/strong> flowing. Don\u2019t waste this opportunity and don\u2019t hesitate to disrupt yourself. Fingers crossed, the next one as big as this one won\u2019t come any time soon\u2026 so be <strong>the \u201cnew normal\u201d!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img src=\"http:\/\/b1-akt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/n-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11690\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Before radical change was forced on us, the business world was really just full of excuses of why we couldn\u2019t <strong>change the way we work.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet the pandemic has become the catalyst for us all to consider what\u2019s <strong>important, useful <\/strong>and<strong> meaningful<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For many, there is little doubt that using digital transformation to accelerate workflows and drive efficiency has a <strong>critical role<\/strong> to play in shaping a new way of working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, for us, our way ahead lies in putting our focus on people. <strong>Positive, lasting change<\/strong> will be driven by <strong>cultural transformation<\/strong>, where our employees and customers are at the heart of every decision we make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>What the new normal could should look like<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the technologies needed to support cultural change are already available, as they <strong>simplify workflows<\/strong>, <strong>enable remote teams<\/strong> and make work more meaningful for employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll see a new era of <strong>remote collaboration<\/strong> and <strong>creativity<\/strong>, with reduced travel bringing the opportunity to meet (virtually) with so many more people for more <strong>fruitful interactions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be a greater acceptance from business of flexible working, helping to remove obstacles to creating more diverse and inclusive work cultures. Physical access to workplaces for those with disabilities will not be an issue, and talent can be interviewed, onboarded and supported in any location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll see many business<strong> leaders commit to enabling<\/strong> <strong>a work-life balance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our workplaces will change, as businesses rationalise their buildings and desks and focus on <strong>smaller workspaces<\/strong> that create the best environments to support productivity, collaboration and company culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now, the impact of the coronavirus is far from over and the emphasis continues to be saving lives and protecting the health and wellbeing of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But we are starting to see the first steps of the path for <strong>the way forward for businesses <\/strong>and their employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Technology is an enabler in accelerating the digital transformation businesses need to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we can\u2019t lose sight of the <strong>human touch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need to make sure <strong>managers are accessible<\/strong>, <strong>help our employees manage the impact of home working on family life<\/strong>. Technology needs to work in the service of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If we can achieve that, as we move through the pandemic, <strong>the business world can emerge in a better place<\/strong>.
