The migrant crisis has been one of the most prominent issues faced by European Union. I think its crucial to find change-makers who are trying to create significant social impact by training migrants to become competitive work force for EU. I had a chance to meet Yannick Le Guern & Laura Petrache and ask them few questions about their initiative MIGRANT INTEGRATION LAB which aims to resolve such complex issue. I hope readers would be able to draw some inspiration and insights to follow their path.

The project seems to be very unique, can you share with us about what were the key motivators to pursue Migrant Lab?

Yes, indeed it actually is and not seems to be . As I encountered some of the issues that migrants are encountering now days and after an experience in Syrian ground, I wanted to build together with Yannick the co-founder of MIGRANT INTEGRATION LAB, a global European device permitting the sustainable integration of migrants and ethnic minorities. For us a welcoming culture is one that contributes by helping migrants, newcomers and their families overcome obstacles in all areas of life, while also providing business start-up assistance and targeted employment. This is why we facilitate and foster economic and social integration of migrants by supporting them in the development of new business initiatives.

Sciences Po Refugee Help is a student association working to uphold the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in France through short and long-term aid and integration.

Born in September 2015, at the heavily mediatised peak of the European refugee crisis, their goal was first and foremost to bring emergency humanitarian aid to street camps and housing centres in the Île de France region. Since, the association has also started working towards longer-term initiatives, specifically regarding the integration of asylum seekers and refugees.

« B1-AKT is Joining Ashoka, Schneider Electric Foundation and Enel for Social Innovation »

Fuel poverty has become a major problem in Europe. There are between 50 and 125 million people who struggle every day to ensure adequate heating, light, and cooking power in their dwelling at an affordable price (European Parliamentary Research Service). This has a severe impact on their health and wellbeing. Creative and systems-changing solutions are needed to transform this issue in an opportunity for these people to thrive.

After a successful partnership in 2015-2016, the Schneider Electric Foundation, under the aegis of the Fondation de France, and Ashoka, have renewed their commitment to helping improve the living conditions of millions of people facing fuel poverty in Europe.

It is by offering support to the most innovative social entrepreneurs in Europe that we can help entire communities tackle fuel poverty and move towards energy sustainability. The 2017-2018 edition is realised in partnership with Enel and B1-AKT .

La 3ème édition de « La Nuit des Voyages aux bouts des Arts et des Mondes », festival des Arts et de l’Interculturalité créé en 2007, et portée par l’Association Arts-Mondes-Cultures s’est déroulée du 21 mai au 14 juin, aux SHEDS de Pantin dans le petit Brooklyn – 21ème district.

Le festival a eu cette année, pour thème : « UNI(S)VERS LE RENOUVEAU ». Il était placé sous le patronage de la Commission Nationales Française pour l’UNESCO et de la Commission Nationale Roumaine pour l’UNESCO, du Mona Bismarck American Center et a bénéficié du soutien de la Ville de Pantin.

Atelier TESLA took place on 11 June 2016:

Keynote speaker was Aleksandar Protic, Chief coordinator of the Sorbonne University Tesla Memory Project, followed by Umesh Mukhi, Director of the Sustainable Leadership Initiative and the Academic Coordinator of the EuroMBA at Audencia Business School. The atelier TESLA was moderated by Milica Mitrovic, UNESCO.

The introduction was made by one of the organisers, Yannick Le Guern – director of the Golden Brain Art Investment Firm, president of the B1-AKT – Leading Sustainable Strategies and a former advisor to the French Minister of the Interior.

08 Juin Conférence – Renouveau individuel et collectif de l’action citoyenne – Paris

Nicolas Tenzer, Stéphane Bellocine, Gérard Souan, Aziz Seni, Annie Coll et Yannick Le Guern ont posé les bases d’un projet commun de société et du renouveau de l’action citoyenne.

Alain Bertho, directeur de la Maison des sciences de l’Homme Paris Nord a montré qu’il faut bien en passer par la délimitation de la largeur de spectre de ce « nous » qui a tant de peine à se définir aujourd’hui.
