Oui, la double championne du monde de course à obstacles, qui a récemment battu le record du monde du plus long grimper de corde féminin et masculin, en grimpant jusqu’au deuxième étage de la Tour Eiffel à 110m.

The double world champion in obstacle racing recently broke the world record for longest rope climb for men and women, climbing to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower at 110m. The previous men’s record was held by the South African Thomas Van Tondre with 295.3 feet, and the women’s record by Danish athlete Ida Mathilde Steensgaard with 85.3 feet. The Dane’s record, set in Copenhagen in July 2022, inspired Anouk Garnier’s iconic challenge. And in what better place to achieve it than the Eiffel Tower, which has inspired so many athletic endeavors!
A seasoned athlete, Anouk Garnier is also a sports coach and fitness trainer who has specialized in obstacle course racing (OCR) for over eight years. She has won more than 25 international medals: twice world OCR champion in her age category, European champion in the Spartan team race, and twice French OCR champion.
Only 41% of women’s college teams are actually coached by women.
Women make up only 28% of youth sports coaches. Across professional sports women continue to be underrepresented in front offices.
These staggering statistics suggest that we might need to be more intentional about creating women leaders in sports. Thankfully, we have Anouk Garnier as a powerfull exemple of what women monumental leadership truly is!
