Why, Minoan Civilization: Minoan Civilization. as an archetypal connecting point, providing (potential) retrospective reference anchors to ideas that might be important for the future. The focus of the conference is on sustainability and resilience.
Why, Minoan Civilization: Because of the analogies to the current economic and social model. Minoan Crete was a global hub (of its time) as the Mediterranean basin was the center of the then-known world.
Minoan Civilization came to an end, not because of natural disasters but, because of an elite -lower class conflict (Lessons learned). #sdgs2030
Crete is also an example of best practice as, despite the end of Minoan Civilization, the Minoan Cretans not only survived but, thrived beyond that date and Crete continued to be a significant hub up to nowadays.
Minoan Crete is an example of lessons learned and best practices on Globalization, Sustainability Transformation, and Resilience connecting past present and future.
In addition, BeyondCSR’s Connectivity Forum aims at pointing out the role of History into connecting past-present and future in order to effectively respond to the enormous global challenges of today, such as poverty alleviation, climate emergency, geopolitics, peace and security, education, the role of cutting-edge/exponential technologies (AI, Data, Blockchain, Machine Learning).
